The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety award the Kia Cadenza the best rating of Good in every six crash test categories.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration didn't crash-test the Cadenza. The typical driver assistance and key safety features include adaptive cruise control, navigation-based cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, rearview camera, Lane keep assist, parking sensors,  rear cross-traffic alert, collision warning, automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers and Surround-view parking camera system. The IIHS uses a different scale for grading collision avoidance features. The Cadenza received the best rating of Superior for its standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system, whilst the optional vehicle-to-pedestrian system earned the midtier rating of Advanced.
