Poker - How to Play Poker

Poker is one of many card games in which players place bets on which hand will be the best. This is usually determined by the rules of the game. There are four basic hands in poker: the Aces, Queens, Kings, and Jack. These hands have different ranking in poker, with the Ace being the highest ranked. The Ace is poker's highest ranking hand. The Jack is poker's lowest ranking hand. Poker hands consist mainly of the four suits - clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades. In a seven-card Stud Poker game, the main hand may be either the Ace, the Queen, the King or The Jack. There are three other types: draw hands and full house, as well as straight flush. The main poker hands are the Ace, Queen, King and Jack. They all combine with seven card stud poker. Stud poker is a form of poker that's played in seven-card Stud. In stud poker, the player bets down to a certain amount, called the base. The cards that come out the top of the table are called the "studs" once the base is touched. Once the studs are dealt, the bets in the pot to increase by one for each stud on the table. The player can call (buy) and fold (quit). In a seven card stud poker hand, the player cannot raise if there is at least seven studs. When the player with the best hand finishes, the pot increases. The pot will increase if the player who has the second best hand finishes. After the third or fourth consecutive bets, the dealer calls. Then, another bet on that table follows. The player with second-best hands has the option to call (quit), or raise (making them a winner). If he raises, the pot will increase and so will the stack of cards. The player with the best hand will have to call and the dealer will then deal out new cards. A variation of stud poker is named Limit Hold'em. Limit Hold'em consists of a game where each number in a deck is equaled by three cards being dealt face down. This is the maximum amount you can raise or bet after all cards have been dealt. You must have at least thirteen of the twenty-one cards in order to bet. The minimum amount can't be lowered and the dealer will request a raise for any player who goes below the minimum. Straight flush occurs when all the cards are in the exact same pile. A flush is also possible with four of a type. The pot is the same with a flush. A straight requires the player not to wager more than the high card, plus three of the lower cards. The same rules apply to a five-card flush. However, the bet must now include the high card as well as two lower cards. This includes the Ace, King and Queen, Jack, Deuce, and the Deuce. Some variations on hold'em may call for betting after the flop. Before betting begins, players must cover both flops by raising the dealer button. Once the flop has taken place, the dealer button will be replaced by a "byecard" symbol. This symbol tells players that betting will cease after the dealer presents his cards. Betting can resume after the flop occurs. These sessions are called "riverings". The river is the bet that the player makes. It is a straight bet. If his opponent wins and there is more than one card left, his hand will win. For example, if a player wagers and his opponent wins, then he wins the pot. If he bets and his opponents to win, then he takes the pot minus the amount of his bet. If all of the pots have been dealt, and there are no more raises in that pot, then the Pot is called a Straight, Flush, or Full-limit Pot. Other special pots are called "expert pay".
